Don?t look now, but forecast models continue to trend west with Isaac

The forecast for Tropical Storm Isaac has sure gotten, umm, interesting this afternoon. First let’s take a look at the tropical system as it’s moving across the Florida Keys and toward the Gulf of Mexico. Its satellite appearance is improving, and I would expect the storm to become Hurricane Isaac soon. For reasons I discussed earlier, it has a good chance to develop into a large hurricane, and perhaps a major hurricane, as it moves across the Gulf of Mexico during the next couple of days.
